A somewhat more prestigious appearance of his software on tv came with the Open Golf Scoring system, designed and written by John and a colleague at Burroughs/Unisys. Later systems design and implementation came with one of the first parcel-tracking systems, produced for the late lamented Red Star Parcels, and City Link’s logistics system using one of the first 4GLs, Progress.
