Virtrium's group of professional consultants is led by Team Virtrium.
Tim has over 20 years experience in IT management within blue chip organisations, including UBS, Sainsbury's and Perot Systems. He has been a senior manager or director in all areas of IT from Service Delivery to IT Strategy. His specialist areas of expertise include strategy and sourcing. He has particular experience working with retail and financial services companies. Tim has a degree in Computer Science and is a member of the Institute of Directors. He is a keen golfer and organises Virtrium's annual charity golf event.
Ed has over 20 years in IT consulting. He has particular expertise in international IT project delivery and operational services, covering IT integration programme governance, global outsourcing and off-shoring, and organisation & process improvement. He has an in-depth understanding of retail, financial services, consumer products and commercial sectors. Ed has a degree in electronic engineering from Bristol University and is a member of the Institute of Directors and the National Outsourcing Association. Ed is a very keen cyclist and is behind the charity bike rides supported by Virtrium.
John is an experienced project manager, operations manager and consultant. He has a wide knowledge of IT encompassing software development, infrastructure design/deployment, compliance/goverance and service management. This is backed by a range of project management experience in financial services, retail and manufacturing. John has a degree in Computer Science at QUB and is a member of the BCS, ISACA and the Institute of Directors. He is an ex rugby player currently searching for a suitable new sport to take up.
Tony Freedman, Principal Consultant
Tony is a highly experienced IT Operations and Service Delivery professional. He has exceptional hands-on expertise in establishing world class operational service management and infrastructure, including outsource vendor management and performance delivery. Tony has a PhD in Chemistry from Queen's College, Cambridge. Outside consulting, Tony is a keen musician, a qualified pilot and a certified pyrotechnic engineer.
Richard specialises in the strategic development and implementation of IT services, operating across a many industry sectors. He is considered to be a trusted advisor to a wide range of FTSE100 and global organisations. He has been the enabler for change to many clients, through innovative IT strategies closely linked to business requirements. He is an aficionado of all things Volkswagen/Audi and also a keen gardener.
Ian has extensive experience of sourcing management and procurement. He has in-depth experience of supplier selection and negotiation, together with the introduction and operation of governance frameworks. His enthusiasm and professionalism ensure optimum delivery in all engagements. Away from work Ian is the bassist with a Reading-based band.
Most recently Richard has led the Internal IT Recruitment Team for a leading FTSE 50 company. He supported the entire Group and successfully placed IT candidates for all IT resourcing requirements. He brings with him a wealth of professional resourcing experience to the team. Another keen cyclist, Richard also spends his spare time boxing and growing his own fruit and vegetables.

David is an IT Leader, Strategist and Change Agent with a wealth of full-lifecycle change and transformation experience. His approach to change is simple but powerful and is based on maintaining absolute clarity about the requirements for change and the desired outcomes throughout the change lifecycle. Away from work David's time is spent keeping up with his young sons' sporting calendars, playing golf and listening to an eclectic mix of music.
